![]() As they can be outswam by a Seaglide, this could be used by the player to hunt them down and eventually kill them. If sufficiently injured enough by a Survival Knife or Thermoblade, Stalkers will turn and flee at their top speed. ![]() The player should be cautious while exploring Kelp Forests to avoid getting attacked by surprise, as Stalkers often form small groups that will lurk in the dense Creepvines.Īt night, besides being more difficult to spot due to being one of only two non- bioluminescent creatures in the game, Stalkers become more aggressive and have a wider aggressive radius, so it is advised to avoid swimming near Kelp Forests at night without adequate protection. They will also attack the player upon close encounters with each bite dealing 30 damage. While carried in a Stalker's mouth, the drone's camera and location marker will work, but it cannot be controlled until the Stalker drops it.īeing predators, Stalkers will attempt to chase and eat nearby Peepers and other small prey. Stalkers can grab Camera Drones, including ones housed in their sockets on the Scanner Room and will carry them around, sometimes quite far. The player can use this as a means of distraction to give the player time to escape so it is recommended to carry metal, or peepers when planning on entering the creepvine forests. Stalkers will sometimes place metal salvage in a certain area with other pieces. These teeth are required for creating Enameled Glass which is needed to make a Cyclops and other advanced objects. It may also drop them when grabbing a Camera Drone or attacking a Seamoth. Sometimes when it picks an object up it will drop one of its teeth. The Stalker seems to have a fondness for metal it will approach metal objects such as Metal Salvage, Silver Ore, and Titanium, pick the object up with its mouth and drop it again after carrying it for a short time. The Stalker's dorsal side is blue-green in color, and is patterned in dark blue and purple, with a bright green and aqua underside. It resembles primitive cetaceans as well as some extinct marine reptiles. The body ends with a broad, whale-like tail fin. It has two pectoral and pelvic purple-tipped fins on each side of the body. Seven dorsal plates protrude from its back, running along the body from the neck to the tail. ![]() Its head features a long snout, which greatly resembles that of earth gharials. The Stalker is a rather large creature, possessing an elongated, smooth body with smooth skin. Occasionally, Stalkers can be found swimming into the Safe Shallows while chasing the player or other small fauna. Cone on man, you've been playing long enough to know that a confirmed "thing" from 2 or 3 updates ago may not work the same after the 2 or 3 updates go live. The Stalker is an aggressive Fauna species mostly found populating the Kelp Forest, and occasionally the Crash Zone. So, I have no idea if it still works, since I don t have the same creatures in my Alien Containments as I had back then? Becuase I started new saves to test other mechanincs and balances out ofter the most recent update. In the 6 months since I posted that? You know, changes? Like with new updates and content? The kind of stuff that happens often in Early Access games? My set up back then was very different from my set up now, 6 months later. But you do realize, you r are quoting a post I made 6 months ago, right? So, things may have changed, or new ugs developed. I haven't tested it in awhile but last time I tried I had a tank with stalkers and some other fish and over time it had nothing but stalkers in it so I assume they do actually eat the prey fish if you leave them together for long enough. They stay docile while in Alien Containment, and predators will not attack or eat prey fish, or attack you inside the Contaiment. Originally posted by IFIYGD:Drop them, in the large Alien Containment. Once the max capacity is reached, the fish or predators will stop reproducing. ![]() Each Alien Containment has a max capacity of 10 fish, though I am not sure if that is a single inventory square fish like Peepers or if medium to large take up more "slots". A really good distance.Īnd be sure to build Alien Containment 2-3 stacked high to allow for the room they need. So be sure to release a good distance away from the base you raised them in. Kinda funny if it s Rabbitrays, kinda not funny if it's Stalkers or Gasopods. many species seem to want to come back home to the base you raised them in. They may or may not turn immediately aggro (mixed finding on ti this- some players have had predators stay tame after release, some have had them go aggro right away.), but the do immediately grow to full size. They stay docile while in Alien Containment, and predators will not attack or eat prey fish, or attack you inside the Contaiment.Īfter they hatch, you can pick them up from inside the Containment. Drop them, in the large Alien Containment. ![]()
